Design: Approved artwork, repeated and cut the same way every time
One action repeats the artwork across the sheet, then builds the cut paths and copies the registration dots, leaving the original untouched.
What goes wrong
Once artwork is approved, the hand-off to production is where small differences creep in. Items are placed one at a time, cut paths are rebuilt for each batch, and the layout can come out slightly different every time.
It is slow to prepare and hard to check at a glance, and the approved file can get disturbed along the way.
What needs to change
Getting approved artwork onto a production sheet should be a repeatable step, not fresh work each time. The approved file should stay exactly as approved, and a second person should be able to check the result at a glance.
The system
Two tools inside CorelDRAW. The first repeats the artwork across the sheet to your layout rules. The second builds the cut paths beside the layout, copies registration dots across where they exist, and leaves the original artwork and cut lines untouched.
How it works
Starts when approved artwork is placed on the sheet. Ends with a production-ready layout with its cut paths, ready to review.
- Start from the approved artwork. One finished label, sign or panel, placed once.
- Apply the repeat rules. One action fills the sheet to your layout, spacing included.
- Select the batch once. The complete layout is selected, so its cut paths are prepared in one pass.
- Build the cut paths. Cut paths and registration dots are built beside the layout. The original stays untouched.
- Review before production. The finished layout is clear enough to check at a glance.
